For the New Christian

For the new Christian:

Paul warns believers, "Do not be conformed to this world" (Rom. 12:2).

The media frequently portrays the idea that if we become rich, attractive, influential, or famous, we will be happy and content. But none of things guarantee joy. Don't let our culture shape your value system and determine your priorities.
  • Focus on positive, righteous, and holy things (Col. 3:3; Phil. 4:8). This should include choosing friends and entertainment wisely.
  • Practice the presence of the Lord. God is always with you. Ask Him to make you more sensitive to His presence. As you allow the Holy Spirit to live through you, He will help you withstand temptation and become more Christ-like.
  • Fill your mind with Scripture. It is through the Bible that we learn God's perspective.

God is Good, All the Time! All the Time, God is Good!

On Denying the Incarnation

As a Christian, I found this to be very eye-opening. It is what my Bible Study on Sunday is going to be about.

On Denying the Incarnation
1 John 4:1-6New International Version (NIV)

4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

(The Antichrist is Satan and he seems to be gaining too much ground as of late. Do you know someone who has Satan on his shoulder? Stay away from them, they have already given up on God and will just try to drag you down.)

Where is God?

When you read this and if you agree that "under God" should be left in the pledge,
then just comment and I will forward the votes to NBC.

Just let me know how you vote. YES or NO

If you think that your friends would like to vote, pass the link on to them. The more votes we get, the better.

Easy huh! Have a great day.

Shock to NBC

Official versions  (changes in bold italics)

1892

"I pledge allegiance to my flag and the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

1892 to 1923

"I pledge allegiance to my flag and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

1923 to 1924

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

1924 to 1954

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands; one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

1954 to Present
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Do you believe that the word God should stay in American culture?

NBC  had a poll on this question. They had the highest Number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the Percentage was the same as this:

86% to keep the words, IN God We Trust on our currency and God in the Pledge of Allegiance
14% against

That is a pretty 'commanding' public response.

Now it is your turn. It is said that 86% of Americans believe the word God should stay.......

Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having 'In God We Trust' on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Why is the world catering to this 14%?

AMEN!

Live, Laugh, Love in Christ

These three words are the purpose of our lives. God wants us to Live, Laugh, and Love.

Living life to the max is to know your creator.
  • Pray He agrees when you tell Him your plans.
  • He wants you to depend on His grace and not your own understanding.
  • He wants to see joy in your eyes when you are obeying his commands.
  • He lives in your heart and whispers in your ear.
  • He wants you to hear what he has to say.
As we approach the day of Jesus' death on Good Friday, and his Resurrection on Easter Sunday, we need to give thanks that God gave us his Son, Jesus, to bear our sins on the Cross. All the sins that man ever committed or will commit were carried by Jesus.

I read Matthew 27 last Sunday. It was eye-opening to me.

The Death of Jesus

27:45-56pp
45 From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ""Eloi, Eloi," "lama" "sabachthani?""--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" 47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah." 48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink.
49 The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.
52 The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
53 They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!"
55 Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs.
56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons.

Verses 52-53
Did you ever notice these two verses before?
I had read them before, but they never had jumped off the page at me until Sunday, when Ray told me what his class discussed in Bible Study. Here is a copy of what Matthew Henry had to say:

"The graves were opened, and many bodies of saints which slept, arose. To whom they appeared, in what manner, and how they disappeared, we are not told; and we must not desire to be wise above what is written. The dreadful appearances of God in his providence, sometimes work strangely for the conviction and awakening of sinners. This was expressed in the terror that fell upon the centurion and the Roman soldiers. We may reflect with comfort on the abundant testimonies given to the character of Jesus; and, seeking to give no just cause of offence, we may leave it to the Lord to clear our characters, if we live to Him. Let us, with an eye of faith, behold Christ and him crucified, and be affected with that great love wherewith he loved us. But his friends could give no more than a look; they beheld him, but could not help him. Never were the horrid nature and effects of sin so tremendously displayed, as on that day when the beloved Son of the Father hung upon the cross, suffering for sin, the Just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God. Let us yield ourselves willingly to his service."

I pray that this has helped someone in some way. I have the conviction that God spoke to me to put this out today. To me it shows that when Christ comes again, we will be taken from the grave and rise to Heaven with to be with God.

GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!
ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!

I am going to expand this thought here. I will be in prayer and listening to what the Lord wants me to do..

Are you Afraid of Anything?

I think we are all afraid to a certain extent. We are afraid that we will hurt others or we are afraid they will hurt us. We are afraid of flying, riding a bus, riding a train, running in a marathon, or being in a large crowd of people.

The Muslim Terrorists want us dead. There are Muslims that do not believe in jihad, but I am beginning to think that most of the ones in the Middle East do believe in jihad. I don't care who or what you believe in, hurting each other is wrong. In this war, the Muslims are the Bullies. We are the Good Guys. Of course, from the other side you could say the Muslims are the Good Guys and we are the bullies. What good does that do?

"It is assumed that the Koran is God's infallible word, and teaching contrary to the Koran is false. But, when the Christian tells the Muslim that Jesus is indeed the Son of God and one with God, that he did truly die on the Cross, was buried and rose again, that he did not foretell the coming of Mohammad, but warned his followers against false prophets, and that it is He who will raise the dead to life and sit as Judge of all men. The Muslim is then forced to believe all the Christian doctrine. which is contrary to the Koran, or to reject the Koran and Muhammad and the whole system of Islam and put his trust in Christ alone. Knowing how difficult it is to reject convictions held since childhood, it is not surprising  that Muslims almost always choose the former alternative." *

As Christians, we have a burning desire to for all those who do not believe in the love of Christ, a love that is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, a love that will create a passionate longing for Muslims to know and love Christ crucified and risen from the dead.

"Now to him by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, to Him be the Glory in the church and in Jesus Christ to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen" [Eph. 3:20-21]

This may not sound too Christian, but I am not so sure that we should be worrying about where they will be in the next life. We know they will not be in Heaven with us, but should we care so much. I think that if women were in charge, we would be able to settle all this mess. We would not want to send our sons off to war, whether it is an American or a Muslim. We would not want our sons to commit suicide to kill others. We would not want our sons to leave their families undefended to go to other countries to fight for people who do not even want us there. Why does this country keep throwing money and men at this problem? No one seems to appreciate that we have just about bankrupted our country giving away our hard earned taxes to them.

Our older people are in dire straits. Most cannot afford the medications they need and some cannot even afford food. That is how wonderful our Social Security System has become. The government seems to take from the system, but does not want to put the money back, or even give cost of living increases while they are giving away our tax money to strangers overseas.

If it were not for the Christian Churches in the United States, there are a lot of people who would starve to death. The Christian Churches are always sending missionaries overseas to help out those in need. Of course, our government sends plenty of money but the leaders seem to take it all and do not improve their people's plight. Somehow this all seems a little one-sided to me.

Woman of God & The Jesus Prayer

Dear Woman of God,

Be still for a while and praise God for His favor, His grace and His awesomeness. God is able to do the impossible and is always near. He loves us unconditionally. Together, let's get our lady friends to praise Him with one voice in this next year and ask for God to bless us all. Let's all choose one friend each day and say this prayer during this year:

Dear
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, This is my friend whom I love and this is my prayer for her. Help her live her life to the fullest. Please cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her to shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs You the most, and let her know when she walks with You, she will always be safe.

Amen!

Get going girl!! Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet.

The Jesus Prayer

"O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
“The invocation of the holy name of Jesus is the simplest way of praying always…. This prayer is possible ‘at all times’ because it is not one occupation among others but the only occupation: that of loving God, which animates and transfigures every action in Christ Jesus”
"Into this name the Christian can pour all of his faith,  with nothing whatsoever left over, for to be a Christian is to rest all of your faith on Christ, with nothing left over."

The Jesus Prayer

Jesus
Jesus Christ
What do Christians use if we want to meditate? We talk to God. We do not call it meditation, but prayer.  I found something quite by mistake. It is "The Jesus Prayer". Actually, it comes from the Greek Orthodox part of Christianity. I love it.

"The Jesus Prayer is not recited as a Mantra, but as a prayer to the Person of Christ.

The Jesus Prayer. - 'Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.'

Power Of The Jesus Prayer Is In The Name Of Our Lord
The prayer begins with the name of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ. In the book of Acts we are told, “There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) The power in the prayer comes from our proclaiming the Lord’s name.

In its simple form we confess our faith in Jesus Christ as our God and Lord. Saint Theophan the Recluse emphasizes the importance of this prayer when he says, “Only with the help of this prayer can the necessary order of the soul be firmly maintained…” (Art of Prayer, p 92)

Here he powerfully says that this particular prayer is essential if we are to put our soul in charge, being fully directed at God. Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov6 says, “By the power of the name of Jesus the mind is freed from doubt, indecision and hesitation, the will is strengthened and correctness is given to zeal and other properties of the soul.” (On the Prayer of Jesus. p 25)

He is saying that as we engage in this prayer the mind is freed from its confusion caused by the attack of numerous thoughts that distract us from God. As the mind is tamed though our repeated repetition of this prayer, the mind is brought under control through God’s grace so that we can use our rational faculties to direct our bodies in an appropriate way allowing us to act in a manner that is consistent with the teaching of Jesus.

Clicking on the Jesus Prayer will take you to the website where it is explained in detail. I hope that you receive the blessing that I received from this.

Someone sent this to me and I have no idea who wrote it, but it is very interesting.

Atheism - The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs - Makes perfect sense.

I would rather live my life as if there was a God and die to find there isn't,
than to live my life like there was no God, and die to find there is. A.Camus

Gospel Sing Video - So Funny

Sheila King Everett sent this out on Facebook. It is a wonderful video that I hope you get a big chuckle over.

If you ever thought that Christians don't have fun, you will really enjoy this and will know that we do have fun. Thank you Sheila for this video.

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN

  • If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world.
  • If you have money in the bank, in your  wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top  8% of the world's wealthy.
  • And  if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the  1% in the world who has that  opportunity.
  • If  you woke up this morning with more health than illness ..
  • You are more blessed than the many who will not even  survive this day.
  • If  you have never experienced the fear in battle, the  loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture,
  • Or  the  pangs of starvation ... You are ahead of 700 million  people in the world
  • If  you can attend a church without the fear of harassment,  arrest, torture or death,  you are envied by, and more  blessed than, three billion people in the   world
  • If  your parents are still alive and still married ....you are very rare.
  • If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm,  you're unique to all those in doubt and  despair
  • If you can read this message, you just received a double  blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special  and you are more blessed than over two billion  people in the world who cannot read at  all.
  • Have  a good day,  count your blessings , and if you care to, remind everyone else how blessed we all are
  • "Thank  you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people with whom to  share it."
  • If  you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you  have been blessed with,  how can you  not  thank God for everything, especially all family and friends!!

What Are we Doing?

I hate Obama, I hate Romney, I hate political commercials! Not all of this is true. I believe that both Obama and Romney are good people. As a Christian, I have to stand behind Romney. The reason for that is because President Obama has crossed the line and signed things into law that I do not believe are moral.

I believe that the only way to serve God is to serve others. I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. I stand by the tenant that sex should between a man and a woman in the holy bonds of matrimony. You may think I am being simplistic in my beliefs, but that is not it.

I had a loving, sweet brother who was one of the first homosexuals in this country to succumb to AIDS. I was 11 years old when he was born and I felt like he was my little boy for a long time. I practiced my parenting skills on him. I took care of him and my little sister who came along two years later. I would like to think that I will see him in heaven because he accepted Christ when he was around 11 years old. But, if that were so, how could he follow the gay lifestyle? I am not letting this eat me up because Paul was responsible for his own future and made his own choices.

I believe that living together without the benefit of marriage is wrong. I did it, knowing that it was wrong. I justified it because of so many excuses,  but when we got married, the feelings that we share were so much more intense than they had been in the four years of "living together." The big word then was "Commitment" and that made our commitment to Christ and the Church even stronger. We both longed to go to church during our time of living together, but did not feel that we should go to church and be hypocrites. Now, we are committed Christians because we know that God has forgiven our sin, because we came to him with a clear heart and confessed our sin and asked for forgiveness.

I believe that we should not speak ill of others and try to always be kind and use Christ as the model for our lives. I believe that we should not harm others by word or deed. Christ would not cast a stone at the prostitute who was about to be stoned. He said: "Let you who are without sin, cast the first stone." So, I will not cast stones at those who I feel are morally wrong. What they do is between them and God. As long as it does not hurt others. If I feel that they are morally wrong, I will not support them.

I believe that we become human at the moment of conception. How could we be anything else? God created us in his image. He says that we should not kill. Why then do people think that it is alright to kill a being that God created in his image? You should not blame a baby for the sins of their fathers. A baby is a precious gift from God no matter how conceived.

I think I really dislike Atheists because of their self-serving belief that there is no God. I have experienced some very nasty comments from Atheist on the Internet. They seem to look down their noses at those of us who believe in God. They tend to treat us as if we are idiots. If there is no God, they do not have to worry about who they hurt. Why should they care about what goes on in this world? Why not murder the innocent? What difference does it make to them if the earth is kept clean for the future. They will not be around. Personally, I feel sorry for them that they do not have faith in someone more than themselves. There is a dictum from Blaise Pascal, called Pascal's Wager, that is put into more modern simplified language by Albert Camus:

·          I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is. Albert Camus

I think this is true to a certain extent, except if you do not truly believe there is a God and just say there is because you want to be on the good side if there is. God can see your heart and it would mean giving your life over to him completely, not just in case there is.

GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!

You may not agree with what I have said, but I hope you believe in my right to say it. I don't care to hear about dissenting opinions, I avoid them when possible. I do not argue and will not argue with your opinions. If you leave hateful, obscene comments, they will be deleted.

Truth

{EAV:710b52be48ae48a8}
I started a class on Sunday called "The Truth Project" by Dr. Del Tackett, who is associated with "Focus on the Family." The major question Dr. Tackett poses is: "Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?" How do we know what we really believe.

There are five of us in this study. We hope some others will join us, but it is okay if they don't. The class is on a video with a facilitator. We are praying for each other each day.  "The Cosmic Battle: Battle between God's Truth and the lies and illusions of the world, the flesh, and the devil. The arguments and pretensions that set themselves up against the knowledge of God, against His nature and His word." There are bible references for everything and I am really looking forward to the study this week.

Wednesday morning, I am joining another group to study Deuteronomy. They meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon. This is a Beth Moore Study group. We have a facilitator and I think she said that she has 16 signed up. I am looking forward to this class also. Since I miss Sunday Morning Bible Study, both of these classes will ensure that I don't fall behind on my studies to be able to help others to understand the Gospel.

If you are interested in "The Truth Project", you can go to the TruthProject.org .

I pray that you all have a wonderful day in Christ!

( I received this in an email from a dear Christian friend. If you find it in your heart, please pass this to your friends. It is so important that the U.S. goes back to its Christian roots. I am afraid that if we allow this part of our lives to disappear, life as we know it will go down the drain. Christianity offers freedom more than any other religion or philosophy. Women have value and are heard. Children are cherished and not murdered before they are even born. Christians are taught to respect others and to rear their children to respect others. Christ fills our hearts with love and caring for others. The only way to serve God is to serve others.  "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13" - Barbara Duke )
This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced, and from the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders unfold. This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do that. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.

This election is the scariest I remember in my lifetime. 2 Chronicles 7:14. 'If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.'

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill, who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute, to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people, and peace. This had an amazing effect, as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America .

The United States of America, and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!!                                         If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 P.M. Eastern Time (8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific), stop whatever you're doing, and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the upcoming election, that the Holy Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land, and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Thank you.

Please send this link on to anyone who you think will want to join us in this prayer.
GOD IS GOOD - ALL THE TIME!!!

THE HOLY SPIRIT - Pastor Seley

 1. Anxious thoughts, fear of the unknown, scared of what might happen, the feeling of losing control....
The Bible says: Philippians 4:6 ... "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiiving, present your requests to God."

2. How we talk about our feelings, how we express our agreement or disagreement...
The Bible says: Ephesians 4:29 . ..  "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up acoording to their needs, that it might benefit those who listen."

3. The primacy of UNITY in God's body... the church.
The Bible says: Ephesians 4:1-3. . .". . . I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received, Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

4. Be extremely aware of Satan and his agenda... to divide, create confusion, isolate portions of Christ's body, to hinder the work of God's kingdom.
The Bible says: 1n Peter 5:8 . . .: . . .Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him. . . "

5. We need God's wisdom for making decisions in our lives.
James 1:5. . ."If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

6. Remember what our purpose and plan is for life.
The Bible says: Matthew 22:37-39. ..  "Love the Lord our God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the 1st and greatest commandment. And the Second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."
The Bible says: Matthew 28: 19-20. . "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the the name of the Fathere, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

For many believers, the Holy Spirit is a mystery. The Holy Spirit knows the mind of God.
The Holy Ghost,
1. What the Bible reveals about the Holy Spirit:
a.  According to the doctrine of the Trinity and God exists eternally in three persons: God the Father,
God the Son,  and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
b. God the Holy Spirits the             who came to dwell permanently in the hearts of believers after Jesus; ascension into heaven. In this way, God lives and loves               us. (Acts: 2:1-4; Romans 8:1,2.10.11)
c. The Holy Spirit                us of sin, prays for us, helps us,                  us, teaches us, in every way abouot God's will. (I Corinthians 2:10-14)
d. The Holy Spirit gives Christians Spiritual gifts (tongues, healing, miracles, exhortation, mercy, hospitality, teaching, preaching, service, etc.) in order to                      the church. (I Corinthians 12:1,4-11)
e. He is called the Comforter, Helper, the Spirit above the Waters, the Breath of Life, the Servant, the Spirit of God, Oil, the Double Portion, the Hand of God, the Breath of Judgement and Fire, the Spirit of Creation and Renewal, the Lamp of the Lord, the Spirits

2. Specifics about the Holy Spirit:
a. The Bible reveals the Holy Spirit to be a                with all the characteristics of a living personal being.
b. One of the key reasons why we believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit is that He has the characteristics of a person,              emotions                 (I Corinthians 2:10-11; Ephesians 4:30: 1 Corinthians 12:11)
c. The Holy Spirit does things that only a person can do: teaches, prays, guides, performs miracles, comforts, guides.

3. The Holy Spirit is God

4. The Holy Spirit has three defining characteristics of God:
a. He is all-knowing                         . (omniscient) (I Corinthians 2:10-11)
b. He is all- powerful                       . (omnipotent) (Genesis 1:1-2, 26)
C. He is everywhere simultainously  . (omnipresent) (Psalm 139:7,8)

Go Figure

Go Figure? What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that you just do not understand why someone is doing something or does it mean that you just cannot believe that they are doing it. Go Figure?

If you have been reading my blog, you know that sometimes I get on my soapbox and here I am again today.

Sometimes things are just not what they seem. People just want to do what they want to do. Sometimes they don't care about convention or tradition. They just want what they want. I am not perfect and have never claimed to be. I have done some things in my life that I am not proud of. But when I came to my senses and remembered that my eternal life depends on what I do in this world. I have never been a homosexual but I have relatives who are. I love them as I love others. I do not agree with their lifestyle, but that is between them and God. I do feel like they should have a civil union if the law allows, not a marriage.

Marriage was instituted by God as the union of one man and one woman so they could have children and populate the world. Marriage is sacred, homosexuality is not. The Bible does not now and never has made it okay. After thousands of years of homosexuality being taboo or sin if you will, it does not suddenly become a wonderful relationship. Just because the closet has opened and everyone is trying not to hurt anyone else's feelings, people are agreeing that it is alright now. Having sex with someone that you are not married to is a sin called fornication or having sex with someone who is married to someone else is adultery. Homosexuality is sodomy.

When I lived and worked as a decorator in Dallas, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with a lot of homosexuals. I have been propositioned by other women, but certainly did not even hesitate to say no. I went out with my brother,  who was gay and I think sometimes they wanted to make me a beard. That is a woman who hangs out with a male homosexual to make others think he is straight. I was not having any of it. I started wearing open-toed shoes so I could not go into the bars he frequented with his friends. My brother had a good job with a A+ company. He did a good job but he traveled a lot and partied a lot. Most of the friends I met were pretty irresponsible. It was almost like they did not want to grow up. They seemed to want to party most of the time. What brought me away from that world was moving to Virginia to be near my children.

I really didn't want to think about my brother not being in Eternity with me, and try to rationalize that because he accepted Christ as a  child and was baptized that he would be in Heaven. But, if he had truly done that, he would not have let the homosexuality dominate. He ended up dying from his exposure to AIDS. I miss him, even after over 25 years. I was 11 when he was born. I fed him, changed him, bathed him, rocked him to sleep, and loved him very much. I am saying that it is not my place to judge, but it is not my place to impose my will and try to change society of the accepted terms for marriage.

Civil union should be available to anyone living together. Marriage should be reserved for the union of a man and woman. There are many places in the Bible where homosexuality is condemned. Take a look at Sodom and Gomorah.
