ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT

( I received this in an email from a dear Christian friend. If you find it in your heart, please pass this to your friends. It is so important that the U.S. goes back to its Christian roots. I am afraid that if we allow this part of our lives to disappear, life as we know it will go down the drain. Christianity offers freedom more than any other religion or philosophy. Women have value and are heard. Children are cherished and not murdered before they are even born. Christians are taught to respect others and to rear their children to respect others. Christ fills our hearts with love and caring for others. The only way to serve God is to serve others.  "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13" - Barbara Duke )

This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced, and from the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders unfold. This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do that. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.

This election is the scariest I remember in my lifetime. 2 Chronicles 7:14. 'If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.'

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill, who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute, to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people, and peace. This had an amazing effect, as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America .

The United States of America, and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!!                                         If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 P.M. Eastern Time (8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific), stop whatever you're doing, and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the upcoming election, that the Holy Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land, and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Thank you.

THE HOLY SPIRIT - Pastor Seley

 1. Anxious thoughts, fear of the unknown, scared of what might happen, the feeling of losing control....
The Bible says: Philippians 4:6 ... "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiiving, present your requests to God."

2. How we talk about our feelings, how we express our agreement or disagreement...
The Bible says: Ephesians 4:29 . ..  "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up acoording to their needs, that it might benefit those who listen."

3. The primacy of UNITY in God's body... the church.
The Bible says: Ephesians 4:1-3. . .". . . I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received, Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

4. Be extremely aware of Satan and his agenda... to divide, create confusion, isolate portions of Christ's body, to hinder the work of God's kingdom.
The Bible says: 1n Peter 5:8 . . .: . . .Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him. . . "

5. We need God's wisdom for making decisions in our lives.
James 1:5. . ."If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

6. Remember what our purpose and plan is for life.
The Bible says: Matthew 22:37-39. ..  "Love the Lord our God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the 1st and greatest commandment. And the Second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."
The Bible says: Matthew 28: 19-20. . "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the the name of the Fathere, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

For many believers, the Holy Spirit is a mystery. The Holy Spirit knows the mind of God.
The Holy Ghost,
1. What the Bible reveals about the Holy Spirit:
a.  According to the doctrine of the Trinity and God exists eternally in three persons: God the Father,
God the Son,  and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
b. God the Holy Spirits the             who came to dwell permanently in the hearts of believers after Jesus; ascension into heaven. In this way, God lives and loves               us. (Acts: 2:1-4; Romans 8:1,2.10.11)
c. The Holy Spirit                us of sin, prays for us, helps us,                  us, teaches us, in every way abouot God's will. (I Corinthians 2:10-14)
d. The Holy Spirit gives Christians Spiritual gifts (tongues, healing, miracles, exhortation, mercy, hospitality, teaching, preaching, service, etc.) in order to                      the church. (I Corinthians 12:1,4-11)
e. He is called the Comforter, Helper, the Spirit above the Waters, the Breath of Life, the Servant, the Spirit of God, Oil, the Double Portion, the Hand of God, the Breath of Judgement and Fire, the Spirit of Creation and Renewal, the Lamp of the Lord, the Spirits

2. Specifics about the Holy Spirit:
a. The Bible reveals the Holy Spirit to be a                with all the characteristics of a living personal being.
b. One of the key reasons why we believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit is that He has the characteristics of a person,              emotions                 (I Corinthians 2:10-11; Ephesians 4:30: 1 Corinthians 12:11)
c. The Holy Spirit does things that only a person can do: teaches, prays, guides, performs miracles, comforts, guides.

3. The Holy Spirit is God

4. The Holy Spirit has three defining characteristics of God:
a. He is all-knowing                         . (omniscient) (I Corinthians 2:10-11)
b. He is all- powerful                       . (omnipotent) (Genesis 1:1-2, 26)
C. He is everywhere simultainously  . (omnipresent) (Psalm 139:7,8)

Go Figure

Go Figure? What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that you just do not understand why someone is doing something or does it mean that you just cannot believe that they are doing it. Go Figure?

If you have been reading my blog, you know that sometimes I get on my soapbox and here I am again today.

Sometimes things are just not what they seem. People just want to do what they want to do. Sometimes they don't care about convention or tradition. They just want what they want. I am not perfect and have never claimed to be. I have done some things in my life that I am not proud of. But when I came to my senses and remembered that my eternal life depends on what I do in this world. I have never been a homosexual but I have relatives who are. I love them as I love others. I do not agree with their lifestyle, but that is between them and God. I do feel like they should have a civil union if the law allows, not a marriage.

Marriage was instituted by God as the union of one man and one woman so they could have children and populate the world. Marriage is sacred, homosexuality is not. The Bible does not now and never has made it okay. After thousands of years of homosexuality being taboo or sin if you will, it does not suddenly become a wonderful relationship. Just because the closet has opened and everyone is trying not to hurt anyone else's feelings, people are agreeing that it is alright now. Having sex with someone that you are not married to is a sin called fornication or having sex with someone who is married to someone else is adultery. Homosexuality is sodomy.

When I lived and worked as a decorator in Dallas, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with a lot of homosexuals. I have been propositioned by other women, but certainly did not even hesitate to say no. I went out with my brother,  who was gay and I think sometimes they wanted to make me a beard. That is a woman who hangs out with a male homosexual to make others think he is straight. I was not having any of it. I started wearing open-toed shoes so I could not go into the bars he frequented with his friends. My brother had a good job with a A+ company. He did a good job but he traveled a lot and partied a lot. Most of the friends I met were pretty irresponsible. It was almost like they did not want to grow up. They seemed to want to party most of the time. What brought me away from that world was moving to Virginia to be near my children.

I really didn't want to think about my brother not being in Eternity with me, and try to rationalize that because he accepted Christ as a  child and was baptized that he would be in Heaven. But, if he had truly done that, he would not have let the homosexuality dominate. He ended up dying from his exposure to AIDS. I miss him, even after over 25 years. I was 11 when he was born. I fed him, changed him, bathed him, rocked him to sleep, and loved him very much. I am saying that it is not my place to judge, but it is not my place to impose my will and try to change society of the accepted terms for marriage.

Civil union should be available to anyone living together. Marriage should be reserved for the union of a man and woman. There are many places in the Bible where homosexuality is condemned. Take a look at Sodom and Gomorah.

Don't Suffer a Bully

I think that when I had breast cancer, it had been caused by extreme stress instituted by a very unprofessional bully boss. Then when he retired, the new boss was nice but the bully spoke to him at lunch the first day he was in the office and declared me an incompetent person. It was strange because, the boss I had before him was very positive and loved my innovation and dedication to my work. He praised me constantly and provided me with training that involved sending me to California and Seattle occasionally.

When he retired, the bully boss came. He didn't like the previous boss, so therefore, he did not like me. Luckily, I had become friends with the region chief, who became one of the top people in the agency. He knew the bully very well and sympathized with me wholeheartedly. I called him on occasion or emailed him with info about what was going on at his request. I even went to personnel about the bully occasionally. I think he finally retired when he was told to retire of get fired. Not a good situation. He had demeaned me so much in the office that the other employees began to believe him. I was at my wits end and when the time came that I could retire, I did.  I thought I could get another job and continue to work but once I got settled down enough to look for another job, I had cancer. Tell me stress doesn't harm your health. Over three years later, I am still not doing so well.

If you are in a situation where you are being bullied, get out, any way you can. Life is too short to let others bully you. At the same time all this was going on, I was ordained as a deacon in my church and I became lead usher. I was elected President of my Lions Club 2 times and held positions in my Woman's Club and NAP Unit. I have never had anything even comparable to happen to me in my life. I am not stupid and have a reasonably high IQ. I am a nice person who lives to help others, because I believe that the only way to serve God is through service to others. Why do you think that this man had such evil notions toward me?

Personally, I think that it is because he is a part of LDS (Mormon). He knew that real Christians believe that LDS is a cult. We believe that they have gone against specific Bible tenants about not believing in new prophets after Christ. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God and cannot be replaced by fairy tales of being gods of planets and such (I have read the book of Morman-which has had over 4000 revisions since originally printed).

Here I am on my soapbox again. I really don't like to do that. If you want to quit following me, go ahead. I didn't say I didn't love them, I just wouldn't vote for them.  As a child of the one true God, I love you all.

God is Good, All the Time

Did you know that God is Good, All the Time? Actually, Good cannot exist without God. Did you know that there is no temptation that God cannot deliver you from. If God has delivered you from a sin, you no longer need to tell everyone that you are a sinner, i.e., alcoholic, thief, etc. If you have been delivered from sin by Christ, you no longer have that label. In your mind, you realize that you need to stay away from that sin, but you don't have to broadcast it to everyone once you have been delivered. 


'God is good, all the time' is one of my favorite phrases, mainly, because He is. Sometimes we may be disappointed in what we receive, but in the grand scheme of things, there is good waiting out there for us at all times. I feel we must earn it and the only way to worship God is to serve others. If God is pleased with your service to your fellow men/women, then he is more likely to show your his goodness. If you do service with a greedy heart, it is not service. That is to say, you only do good for others if you get something out of it. We should never ask or expect anything for our service. 


I did something significant that the Lord asked me to do a few years ago. It was not an easy thing to do, but I did it anyway. It took five long years and loads of praying, but it came to pass as it was God's Plan. I asked for guidance and prayed that the Holy Spirit would enter into the hearts of the ones who didn't think it was a good idea. Eventually, the day came that everything worked out and it was one of the happiest and most significant days in my life. It made a difference in our community and changed the dynamic is the area of town where it happened. A pastor who was involved told me that when I get to Heaven I will have a crown of rubies for my head. I never thought of that, but it sounds heavy. Have you ever heard the expression that I use all the time? 


Live for God, regardless of the inconvenience you face. Always let people know who you are. For myself, I bought a large silver cross in California when I was on a business trip. I used the per diem that the government provides for travel for the purchase of the cross instead of lots of expensive meals. I wear the cross most of the time and if not that one, I wear a small one. You would be amazed how it calms down a heated conversation. People who spew profanity usually take one look start talking without the swear words.

I love the quotation 'Profanity is the effort of a feeble mind to express itself forcefully.' I was told it was a quote from President George Washington. English is changing day by day and more people would be more cognizant of their language if they knew that intelligent people thought them ignorant because of their profanity. 

There are occasions where I have heard someone use a word for emphasis that wasn't very nice, but in the group there wasn't anyone who swore, so it was a very effective use of the word. Using profanity habitually does show ignorance and it also shows that that person does not care about anyone but themselves. Here I go on my soapbox again.


I was thinking the other day of all the things that I have to be thankful for. How about you? What have you got to be thankful for? Here is my list:

• Thank You Lord for taking the cancer away from my body.
• Thank You Lord for giving me such a good husband.
• Thank You Lord for giving me such wonderful children and grand children.
• Thank You Lord for my wonderful Christian Friends.
• Thank You Lord for my friends who are not yet Christians.
• Thank You Lord for the Holy Spirit who will be instrumental in making more friends Christian.
• Thank You Lord for the health of my family and friends.
• Thank You Lord for letting me know those who are sick that I can pray for.
• Thank You Lord for this wonderful country where we are free to express our opinions and be all we can be.
• Thank You Lord for connecting me with so many people on Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn, Blogger, etc., so that I may share my faith with them.
• Thank You Lord for my Rheumatoid Arthritis so that I may know how it feels to show compassion for others. 
• Thank You Lord for all the blessings that You have bestowed on me and my family.
• Thank You Lord for providing me and mine with a home where we will live with You forever and ever in Heaven.
• Thank You Lord for being You and Loving us so much that You would give Christ to us to deliver us from sin. 

Lord God, we love You and praise Your Holy Name. Amen

Just as he realized he had become separated from Rudy, the crowd began to cheer. The Pope made an appearance on the balcony, and to Benny’s utter amazement, standing beside him waving to the crowd, with Rudy.

Recently, someone sent this in an email. I thought it would be a good post. Most who know me know that I do not normally copy other people's work, but this I just could not resist. I guess that the email had gone around so much that the writer's name was deleted, and for this I am sorry. I would love to give the Pastor of this predominantly black church in Virginia three cheers. This guy is obviously a leader. Perhaps we should each decide who our real leader is... It is amazing to see that very little has changed in 4,000 years.

Good morning, brothers and sisters; it's always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God's Word. Turn with me in your Bibles, if you will, to the 47th chapter of Genesis. We'll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.

Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us? .... (reading) ... Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray. So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt , and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them. And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.

So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock - their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey - to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year. But the famine wasn't over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. "There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh." So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh's government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain.

What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?
That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery? Yes.... That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master?

Yes. But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt , in the land of Goshen . And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly." God provided for His people, just as He always has! They didn't end up giving all their possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions! But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one.

We see the same thing happening today - the government today wants to "share the wealth" once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago - as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders.

What Mr. Obama's government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh's government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people like to call Mr.Obama a "Messiah," don't they? Is he a Messiah? A savior? Didn't the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, "You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh"? Well, I tell you this - I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. OBAMA IS NO MESSIAH! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh. Bow with me in prayer, if you will...

Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone. We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be. We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says "And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day..."
And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh's government. In God We Trust...
